Annapurna Base Camp trek gives you the opportunity to
get up close to the giant Annapurna mountains as well
as the holy mountain Machhapuchre. You will get the opportunity
to spend the night at both base camps. The huge south
face of Annapurna (8,090m/26,535ft) provides an impressive
backdrop, while the closeness of 10 peaks over 6,000m/20,000ft,
including Hiunchuli, Fang, Annapurna III and Machapuchare
(the Fish Tail Peak), inspire a delicious joy as a fitting
highlight of this spectacular trek. On the return journey
we will have a chance to visit the beautiful village and
the Gurung 'capital' of Gandruk before heading back to
Pokhara.
Itinerary
Day 01 : Kathmandu arrival/ transfer
to hotel/ our represent will be at the airport to receive
you on your arrival. Just look for Adrift Adventures Neapl's
banner.
Day 02 : Kathmandu guided city tour
Day 03 : Kathmandu - Pokhara by comfortable
tourist bus (200 km / 6 hr. driving)
The road to Pokhara snakes along one of the most famous
rafting river of Nepal known as trishuli. You can make
your day more exciting by adding up three hour's rafting
trip to your itinerary. To make it less hectic, stay one
night in our riverside camping. It's all about fun. Check

Pokhara is called natural capital of Nepal. Tourist hotels
and restaurants are situated by a 4.43 sq km lake with
crystal clear peaks of Annapurna, Fishtail and Lamjung
Himal.
Day 04 : Pokhara – Drive to New
Bridge (Birethati / 41 km / 1 hrs 30 minutes) and trek
to Tirkhedunga : On this first day of trekking, we will
walk only for 4 hrs through charming villages, terraces
and mountain streams. The day is easy with few short ascends
and mostly plane walk.
Day 05 : Trek to Ghodepani (2,750m /
5 hr). It si mostly uphill. At first you will climb flights
of stone made steps for 2 hrs and then enter the lush
forest. After the climb you will see Annapurna South.
The climb then gets more gradual and the walk will be
more pleasent. Ghorepai is situated right on the top of
the pass. Hence one can see spectacular view of Dhaulagiri
and Annapurna Massif.
Day 06 : Poon Hill and trek to Tadapani:
We will leave hotel before sunrise for poon hill. After
almost an hour's climb we will arrive at the altitude
of 3190m at poon hill. From here Annapurna appears more
beautiful. You will find yourself surrounded by gigantic
peaks of Annapurna and Dhaulagiri Massifs (Annapurna I,
8091m / Dhaulagiri I, 8,167m). After spending ample of
time in Poon Hill, we climb down to the lodge and do our
breakfast. Trek to Tadapani through Rhododendron forests
with two short climbs and rest downhill. Tadapani offers
closer view of Annapurna South, Huinchuli and Fishtail.
Day 07 : Trek to Chhomrong village (2,180m
/ 5 hrs): From Tadapani we climb down a long section to
Kymrong River and then climb for 20 minutes to the other
side. Rest is plain walk to Chhomrong. From chhomrong
Valley of Annapurna Sanctuary is visible with closer view
of Annapurna South, huinchuli and Fishtail.
Day 08 : Trek to Bamboo (2,335m / 5 hrs):
We climb down to the chhomrong River and climb up to Sinwan
(two hours climb). We enter the Annapurna Sanctuary here.
Then a plane walk along the lower flank of Huinchuli for
1 hr and downhill for another 1 hour will take us to the
small settlement of Bamboo with 4 lodges.
Day 09 : Trek to Deurali (3,200m / 5
hrs): Trek from here becomes more interesting in the deep
gorge with lush vegetation of bamboo and rhododendron.
This is paradise for bird watchers. Except the climb from
Himalaya to Deurali, the trail is fairly plain.
Day 10 : Deurali to Machhapuchhre Base
Camp (3,700m / 3 hrs): From here the valley widens up
and the vegetation thins up. One can even feel thin air
climbing to Machhapuchhre Base camp. You can even go all
the way to Annapurna Base Camp if you feel fit.
Day 11: Trek early morning to Annapurna
Base camp and trek down to Himalaya or Dovan. (6 -7 hrs).
Day 12: Trek back to Chhomrong (6 –
7 hrs)
Day 13: Trek to Ghandruk (1,900m / 5
hrs)
Day 14: Trek down to nayapul and drive
back to Pokhara
Day 15: Spend morning in pokhara and
fly back to Kathmandu
Day 16: Kathmandu free day
Day 17: Drive to the airport and fly
back
